How does sharia law explain why islam is an inquistition?

Maryam Namazie explains how sharia law enables anti-human theology to infect the public domain to practical effect and why islamicists are such a direct threat to the enlightenment values – through a willingness to engage in intimidation and violence against those who support and exercise them – upon which tolerant western secular democracies have been built.

  1. “Because of these politics of multiculturalism, concepts such as rights, equality, respect, and tolerance which were initially raised vis-a-vis the individual are now more and more applicable to culture and religion and take precedence over real live human beings. Moreover, the social inclusion of people into society has come to mean inclusion of their beliefs, sensibilities, concerns, and agendas and nothing more. This distinction between humans and their beliefs and regressive political movements is of crucial significance here.

It is the human being who is meant to be equal, not his or her beliefs. It is the human being who is worthy of the highest respect and who is sacred, not his or her beliefs or those imputed on them. The problem is that religion sees things the other way around and this why religion must be relegated to a private matter. In the face of this onslaught, secularism, universalism, values worthy of the twenty-first century have to be defended and promoted unequivocally.”

    Just so.

  2. New subscriber. One thing you might want to do is add a link to your RSS feed somewhere, like in the top right of your sidebar? When I view your page with my browser it does not show a link to your RSS in the location field as many do, so one might be lead to believe that you do not have an RSS feed. And… I don’t see a link anywhere on your page. If you put the little RSS icon on your sidebar someplace, I think it will be more clear that you have one.

PS, if you don’t know what your RSS address is… it is; https://questionablemotives.wordpress.com/feed/

    Cheers!
