Questionable Motives

Why is the pope a vicious authoritarian theocratic homophobic misogynist hierarchical thug?

Because, borrowing Ophelia Benson’s accurate description of him at her blog, he embodies his religion’s dogma, which just so happens to be vicious, authoritarian, homophobic, misogynistic, and hierarchical in need of of thuggery… and our favourite Pope Palpatine delivers in spades!

From his ‘welcoming’ speech at Hollyrood, Scotland:

Even in our own lifetime, we can recall how Britain and her leaders stood against a Nazi tyranny that wished to eradicate God from society and denied our common humanity to many, especially the Jews, who were thought unfit to live. I also recall the regime’s attitude to Christian pastors and religious who spoke the truth in love, opposed the Nazis and paid for that opposition with their lives. As we reflect on the sobering lessons of the atheist extremism of the twentieth century, let us never forget how the exclusion of God, religion and virtue from public life leads ultimately to a truncated vision of man and of society and thus to a “reductive vision of the person and his destiny” (Caritas in Veritate, 29).

Liar! Bald-faced liar! Your two-timing church WAS allied to Mussolini and Franco, you revisionist asshole, and you KNOW Hitler was a catholic by his own admission, you duplicitous despicable piece of human intellectual refuse. Yet you dare to blame atheism? Hitler’s political philosophy was NOT based upon atheism and had absolutely NO connection whatsoever with atheism, but that doesn’t stop the Darth Pope from spreading this disgusting lie when it serves his child-raping purposes.

Today, the United Kingdom strives to be a modern and multicultural society. In this challenging enterprise, may it always maintain its respect for those traditional values and cultural expressions that more aggressive forms of secularism no longer value or even tolerate. Let it not obscure the Christian foundation that underpins its freedoms;

The lies just don’t stop with this deplorable excuse for an honest man – one who was an actual member of the Nazi party. Christianity underpins secular enlightened values?! Now we see what religious belief can do to addle the brain and distort history all at one fell swoop.

The man obviously suffers from dementia and is desperate need of prompt medical intervention. Wiring his lying mouth shut would be a reasonable start, putting him on trial for aiding and abetting heinous criminal acts against children would be what any responsible and respectable police force should do, and his speeches represent all the right reasons for good catholics to stay home from church and stop donating money to it if they wish to do the morally right thing… unless and until this lying-coward-who-is-pope is replaced by one that is willing to treat atheists and secularists with the human dignity we deserve.

Although his uniform has changed since the war, The Rat still harbours his inner Nazi… his irrational hatred aimed this time at secularists and atheists.

  1. From Butterfliesandwheels comment #46 by Mine’s a Newt writes:

The Hitler Youth song begins with the words:

“God is struggle, and we are struggle,

And that is why we’re here.”

    [Source: Joachim Fest.]

Ratzinger will remember the words from his days in the Hitler Youth.

So when he claims the Nazis were atheists, remember that he isn’t “mistaken”. He knows, at first-hand experience, that what he’s saying isn’t true. It’s not just vicious bigotry; it’s a deliberate lie.

  2. PZ Myers has put up a long list of quotes from Hitler clearly revealing his religious bent, whereas the craziness that affects The Rat has spread and deepened with this insane tripe by catholic league president and and Head Wackaloon Bill Donohue, who said:

The pope did not go far enough. Radical atheists like the British Humanist Association should apologize for Hitler. But they should not stop there. They also need to issue an apology for the 67 million innocent men, women and children murdered under Stalin, and the 77 million innocent Chinese killed by Mao. Hitler, Stalin and Mao were all driven by a radical atheism, a militant and fundamentally dogmatic brand of secular extremism. It was this anti-religious impulse that allowed them to become mass murderers. By contrast, a grand total of 1,394 were killed during the 250 years of the Inquisition, most all of whom were murdered by secular authorities.

Donohue has outdone himself stating the stupid that afflicts him. Conservative estimates of the victims of the papal bull Malleus Maleficarum (1486) granting the legal authority for its representatives to go forth and cleanse christendom of witchcraft is around 40,000-60,000. In an all too typical twist to avoid responsibility, catholic apologists like the twit Donohue like to blame the executioner (employed by the locals and therefore secular according to the twits) rather than the person of actual authority who ordered the executions (the holy god-besotted blood-of-the-lamb soaked papal representative carrying out the bull). This is standard operating procedure for the corrupt organization called the roman catholic church; it’s always the fault of those who oppose their corruptness for the corruptness.

But to demand that atheists apologize for Hitler goes beyond the pale: it was the catholic church that signed the concordat with the Reich in July 1933 in response to the Enabling Act (March 1933), which gave Hitler dictatorial powers for four years. The concordat was signed by Cardinal Pacelli, who would become Pius XII. This helps explain why the church did not protest the arrest of socialists and communists but speak out in positive terms about the new German government because it saw the Nazis as a force for good against the threat of communism.

Donohue and his despicable grovelling ilk before mother church don’t expect anyone to know anything about history, and why should we if all we do is what we’re told and believe what we’re told and swallow whatever lies and gross misrepresentation we’re supposed to swallow like good little catholics. What’s true to people like Donohue and Pope Palpatine is an impediment. Because non believers care more about what’s true than kowtowing to those theological thugs who like to use god as a hostage to ensure obedience from the faithful, we as atheists, secularists, and free thinkers can expect more of the same lies and vitriol to be thrown against our collective character as we push governments and law to hold these cretins accountable.

  4. Incidentally anyone who is undecided whether or the Pope and his religion is respected within British society should read the comments on the BBC web site here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/haveyoursay/2010/09/whats_does_pope_benedict_xvis.html
